The Art Of Choosing Books

a few recent favorites

There has never been a shortage of books to read.

Every week brings another anticipated release, another bestseller, another title everyone seems to be talking about. It's exciting but it can also feel overwhelming. Choosing what to read shouldn't feel like another item on an already full to do list.

That's why I created Nicole in Fiction.

I read widely, from historical fiction and literary novels to contemporary romance, fantasy and the occasional thriller. I don't believe great stories belong to just one genre. I believe the best books are the ones that stay with us long after we've turned the last page.

Not every book I read will appear here.

The books I recommend have earned their place. They made me think, made me feel something, or simply reminded me why I love reading in the first place. Some will become instant favorites. Others will surprise me in ways I never expected. A few may simply arrive at exactly the right moment.

My hope is that when you visit Nicole in Fiction, you'll know that every recommendation has been chosen thoughtfully. You won't find endless lists filled with books I haven't read or trends I'm chasing just because everyone else is talking about them.

Instead, you'll find carefully curated recommendations from someone who genuinely loves spending time with stories.

Because reading isn't a competition. It isn't about finishing the most books or keeping up with every new release.

It's about finding the stories that become part of your own life.

Those are the books that earn a place here.
